Las Rojinegras want to finish what they started in the 2020 Clauaura, and they've added two new players to bolster the squad.
Midfielder Vanessa González and defender Stephany Amaya were made official with the team on Monday afternoon and have already incorporated into the team as it continues its preseason preparations.
Vanessa González Márquez, born June 3, 1999 in Monterrey, Nuevo León,
arrives from Tigres, where she formed part of the two-time championship team in 2018 and 2019.
A Mexico youth international, González Márquez has participated in several tournaments icluding the 2014 youth Olympics in Nanjing where she helped her team to the bronze medal, and the 2016 pre-World Cup team in Granada.
Upon signing, she commented:
“Atlas is a very competitive team, they play their games with a lot of attitude and they always show a thirst for success with has great players on and off the field.”
Stephany Anaya Montaño will bring leadership and experience to the group whick will look to build upon its stellar progress from the 2020 Clausura.
Born on September 2, 1990 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, the 29 year old defender played for 10 years in the Universidad Del Valle de México, and has several accolades to her name including a third place finish in the Olimpiada Nacional and second and third place finishes in the Copa CONADIP.
Anaya Montaño is a player known for transmitting security in the back with excellent ball control and domination.
